The organization of the documentary, Grey Gardens, is reflective of the organization of Edie and Edith's lives. They are mother and daughter living in a cluttered home doing random things all day in order to pass the time. They sing, sunbathe, dance, reminisce on old photos, etc. The film has no real plot to it. It is just a bunch of random clips of the mother and daughter.
I really enjoyed the organization of this essay. It did not seem to be in any specific chronological order but it just went from story to story. Although through repetition such as of words and phrases like “she sang” and “One” time, “One” morning, and “One” Halloween, Brown made it flow together nicely. I tried to model my own paper about our moms after this style and organization by making it more of a collection of stories than in a chronological order of events.
The organization used in Girl was similar to that of Fifty Things About My Mother. It is organized into a list of commands and pieces of advice that a mother is giving a daughter, not particularly in a chronological order. I have never seen this organization style before but I thought it was really neat.

The This American Life podcast was organized into four segments. Each of them were about different personal stories about mothers. Some stories were more serious then others. In act two there is a story about a child who was put into jail and the women inmates became like a mother figure to her. But there are also more lighthearted stories such as how children learn to imitate their mothers to perfection.
